Hazel Oak is a thriving all-age special school supporting pupils with a wide range of learning needs, including Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, speech, language and communication needs, sensory processing differences, social, emotional and mental health needs and complex medical needs.

- Is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for every learner.
- Has experience of teaching pupils with SEND, particularly pupils with autism, communication needs and sensory differences.
- Has a strong understanding of child development and personalised learning.
- Can create engaging, creative and meaningful learning experiences that inspire pupils to learn.
- Can lead a delegated curriculum area.
- Values communication in all its forms and is committed to developing a total communication environment.
- Can work effectively alongside teaching assistants, therapists, families and other professionals.
- Understands that behaviour is communication and can respond with empathy, consistency and high expectations.
- Demonstrates resilience, creativity and a solution-focused approach.
- Shares our commitment to inclusion, belonging and preparation for adulthood.
