Brockley Primary School is a small, nurturing and ambitious primary school at the heart of its community. Guided by The Brockley Way and our motto,"Only Our Best Is Good Enough", we are committed to ensuring every child thrives academically, socially and emotionally through an inclusive, creative and inspiring curriculum.

We are seeking an exceptional and enthusiastic teacher to join our team as EYFS Leader and Class Teacher for our mixed Reception and Year 1 class from January 2027 to cover a period of maternity leave.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who believes that children learn best through high-quality relationships, engaging provision and a curriculum that inspires curiosity, confidence and a love of learning.

About The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and continue the development of our Early Years provision.
  • Teach a mixed Reception and Year 1 class.
  • Create a rich, stimulating and language-focused learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Ensure every child achieves their full potential through high expectations and inclusive practice.
  • Contribute fully to the wider life of the school and our close-knit team.

We Are Looking for Someone Who:

  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner with experience of EYFS.
  • Has a strong understanding of child development and early learning.
  • Can effectively teach across the Reception/Year 1 age range.
  • Has high expectations of achievement, behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Is committed to inclusion and meeting the needs of all learners.
  • Demonstrates creativity, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for early education.
  • Has the leadership skills to further develop our EYFS provision.
  • Shares our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
