Salary Range: £30,656 - £42,274 per annum
(starting salary is dependent on QTS and number of years relevant experience)

Clervaux Garden School provides specialist education for students aged 10-19 with significant social, emotional and educational needs. Through the Ruskin Mill Trust's unique Practical Skills Therapeutic Education approach, students learn and achieve through meaningful activities involving the land, animals and crafts.
This is an exciting opportunity to deliver an innovative curriculum that supports students to build confidence, resilience, independence and essential life skills alongside academic achievement.
Role Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring students engage in learning and make progress through the delivery of practical, experiential and therapeutic education. Working with a class of students with a range of educational needs and abilities, you will carefully plan and deliver learning activities that inspire participation and achievement. You will lead cross-curricular teaching, helping students develop literacy, numeracy, social skills and Core Learning Skills through meaningful practical experiences. You will assess and monitor progress in line with the school's curriculum and assessment framework while creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Requirements
Our successful applicant will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience of teaching within a Special Educational Needs (SEN) environment
- Experience of delivering Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE)
- Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills
- A practical and creative approach to engaging students in learning
- A passion for supporting young people with additional needs to achieve their potential

About the School
Clervaux Garden School bridges Clow Beck on a 100-acre site near Darlington, farmed for over 800 years. Clervaux Garden School is on a part of the site originally designed as an eco-centre, closely connected to the land. Our pupils have opportunities to apply themselves to practical land and craft activities that support the curriculum areas identified in the Independent National School Standards
