Are you an ambitious and enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about raising standards, developing the whole child and creating opportunities for every pupil to thrive?

Whitley Abbey Primary School is looking to appoint a Whole School Enrichment, Personal Development & Middle School Standards Leader to join our developing leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine responsibility for standards across the Middle School with strategic leadership of Personal Development, our Everyone DOES enrichment offer and the launch of OPAL – Outdoor Play and Learning.

What is the job role?

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead Year 2-6 as their Team Leader.
  • Be a Year 4 class teacher
  • Support colleagues through monitoring, professional dialogue, coaching and sharing effective practice.
  • Take a strategic lead for Personal Development, ensuring pupils benefit from a rich range of experiences that prepare them for life beyond the classroom.
  • Coordinate and develop our Everyone DOES offer, ensuring enrichment is an entitlement for every pupil.
  • Organise and develop clubs, trips, visitors, competitions, performances, pupil leadership and wider experiences.
  • Lead the launch and implementation of OPAL, developing high-quality play opportunities across the school.
  • Ensure opportunities for pupils to develop confidence, character, resilience, leadership, independence and a strong sense of belonging.
  • Work closely with the Pupil Premium Lead to track participation, identify gaps and remove barriers for disadvantaged pupils.
  • Evaluate the impact of Personal Development and enrichment on pupils' engagement, attendance, confidence, belonging and participation.
  • Use pupil voice to evaluate provision and ensure pupils play an active role in shaping school life.
  • Develop partnerships with families, community organisations and external providers to broaden pupils' experiences.
