About Us
Evenlode Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive two-form entry school for children from Nursery to Year Six. Our Nursery children are based in their own setting on Bute Lane in Penarth, while the children from Reception to Year Six are on our main site at Evenlode Avenue. Our school community is further supported by our Saplings Out of School Provision, which offers wrap-around care for children on the Evenlode Avenue site.

About The Role
Pay Details: Main Pay Scale £33,731 - £46,595 p.a
Hours of Work / Weeks per year / Working Pattern: 32 Hours per week / 39 weeks per year
Main Place of Work: Evenlode Primary School
Temporary Reason: Temporary to cover maternity leave – start date 23rd Nov 2026.
About You
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Skilled and experienced teacher
- Proven experience of teaching in Key Stage Two
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for working with children and a nurturing approach

- Be a highly effective teacher
- Use adaptive teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs
- Have a secure understanding and application of assessment strategies to ensure strong progress.
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that promote a love of learning and intellectual curiosity, in line with the Curriculum for Wales
- Maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues, promoting good behaviour and a safe learning environment
- Participate in the wider life and ethos of the school, including extracurricular activities
