Role Description/Criteria

Role Description

St Therese School is committed to the safety, wellbeing, and care of all children and upholds all Child Safe Standards as an expectation of all in the school community. Staff are required to meet child safety checks as part of the application process.

Selection Criteria

Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos, mission, vision, and values of St Therese Catholic Primary School
  • Commitment to child safety and wellbeing and the St Therese Staff Code of Conduct
  • Knowledge and use of evidence-informed practice, including direct and explicit teaching, aligned with the MACS Vision for Instruction
  • Ability to use assessment and data to inform teaching, differentiate learning, and maintain high expectations for all students
  • Ability to create calm, positive, and engaging learning environments, with an understanding of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate positively and effectively with students, colleagues, families, and the wider school community.

  • Preference that candidates hold accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School or at least demonstrate a commitment to obtain this accreditation.
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration (including provisional registration)
