Description

The person appointed would be expected to:

  • Work under the day-to-day supervision of the Estates and Facilities Assistant Security.
  • Clean designated areas to an acceptable standard as instructed by the Estates and Facilities Assistant Security in line with college requirements.
  • Exercise proper use and economy with cleaning materials/equipment.
  • Only use cleaning materials provided by the College and read the relevant COSHH assessments.
  • Read and follow the College’s Health & Safety at Work Policy.
  • Read and understand the cleaners’ Risk Assessment document, recognising the hazards, and applying the control measures.
  • Inspect cleaning materials before and after use, reporting to the Estates Manager and Estates and Facilities Assistant Security immediately any faults, like damaged cables or plugs.
  • Keep cleaning materials in a clean condition and store them when not in use in the designated room.
  • Enter in the Signing in Book, your times of arrival and departure.
  • Collectively with your colleagues, cover the cleaning areas of absent cleaners as directed by the Estates Manager or Estates and Facilities Assistant Security.
  • Where appropriate, work additional week(s) in College holiday periods, as directed by the Estates and Facilities Assistant Security.
  • Undertake any reasonable request by the Estates Manager or Estates and Facilities Assistant Security in line with your cleaning duties.
  • Each member of the College will take reasonable care for the health and safety of himself/herself and persons who may be affected by his/her omissions at work.
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours during key events e.g. open evenings, enrolment days and exam periods.
  • Attend meetings and complete mandatory training in accordance with the colleges meeting/training schedule.
  • Undertake any other duties as may be assigned commensurate with the grade and overall responsibility level of the post and as changing circumstances may require.

Contract and Salary Information

  • Closing date: 12 noon on Wednesday 12th August 2026
  • Start date: 1st September 2026
  • Contract: Established, 12.5 hours per week, term time only
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday 4pm-6pm
  • Salary: Point 3 - £24,759 per annum (payable £6,910.56 pa)
