Candidates must possess the necessary right to work authorization to enable them to work for Chesterfield Borough Council. Regrettably, we are unable to provide sponsorship or assume sponsorship of an employment visa at this juncture.
We currently have multiple positions available for individuals to join the building cleaning team.
We have cleaning locations both inside the borough of Chesterfield and in surrounding areas, including public venues consisting of public toilets, parks pavilions, office buildings, communal areas of housing complexes plus void and tenanted housing properties.
The roles include a range of physical activities, such as manual handling, where appropriate.
Duties may include:
- Hand sweeping and mopping stairs
- Cleaning windows and large areas of plate glass
- Using specialist cleaning machines such as floor buffers
- Scrubbing tiles and floors in changing areas
- Emptying waste bins and ensuring waste is disposed of properly
- Replenishing supplies such as hand soap and paper towels
- Vacuuming large floor spaces
- Dusting skirting boards, door frames, and office furniture

The successful candidates will need to be flexible as it is highly likely that your working location and the tasks you are completing will change regularly.
Hours available are:
- x1 post at 28 hours per week (weekend working plus two additional days mid week, full driver's licence required)
- x1 post at 12 hours and 30 minutes per week
