Job Description: Cleaner
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and customer-focused Cleaner to join our Estates & Facilities team.
You will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and positive learning and working environment for students, staff, and visitors. Working under the direction of the Cleaning Manager or Team Leader, you will carry out a wide range of internal and external cleaning duties.
This is a permanent, part-time role requiring 15 hours per week, with a schedule of Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 9:30am.
Please note that this is a term time only position, working 38 weeks per year. Your salary will be paid on a pro rata basis depending on your start date.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning offices, classrooms, laboratories, event areas, stairs, corridors, and entrances
- Dusting desks, chairs, PCs, ledges, and other surfaces
- Vacuuming hard and soft floors, vents, and grills
- Mopping floors using dry and damp methods
- Cleaning internal glass, mirrors, windows, and doors
- Carrying out occasional deep-cleaning and specialist cleaning tasks
- Reporting faults, incidents, and potential hazards
- Following health and safety procedures and safe working practices
- Looking after cleaning equipment, materials, keys, and building access
- Supporting the wider maintenance of designated buildings.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
- Has cleaning experience in an industrial, education, or similar environment
- Is physically able to undertake vigorous work and remain standing for extended periods
- Can adapt to a variety of manual duties
- Is comfortable working in challenging cleaning conditions
- Understands the importance of health and safety, including COSHH procedures
