Job Purpose
To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment within the school premises, ensuring facilities are presented to a high standard for pupils, staff, and visitors. The role also includes responsibility for opening and locking the site each day.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean designated areas including classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, kitchens, and communal spaces.
- Carry out routine cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitising surfaces, and emptying waste bins.
- Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and stored appropriately.
- Report maintenance issues, damage, or health and safety concerns to the appropriate person.
- Open and secure the building daily in accordance with site procedures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the premises.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including safe handling of cleaning materials.
- Undertake any other cleaning-related duties appropriate to the role.

Requirements
Experience
- Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.
- Experience working within a school, childcare, or similar environment is desirable.

Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and safe use of cleaning products.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

- Understanding of health and safety requirements relating to cleaning duties.
Additional Information
- Location: Ladybrook Children’s Centre, Nottingham, NG19 6EW
- Hours per Week: 15 hours (3 hours per day: 2 hours cleaning and 1 hour for opening and locking)
- Working Pattern: Flexible hours – morning or afternoon
- Pay: Bi-weekly
