1 Month contract with a local authority

Umbrella - £16 per hour - Umbrella

Job Purpose

As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety throughout Hobart High School. You will ensure classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, and communal areas are cleaned to a professional standard, creating a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

  • Clean classrooms, offices, corridors, washrooms, and communal areas.
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, and polish floors.
  • Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
  • Clean and sanitise surfaces, touch points, and equipment.
  • Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies where required.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and site procedures.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment is used and stored safely.
  • Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damage.
  • Maintain health and safety standards at all times.
  • Work independently to complete allocated cleaning tasks efficiently.

Essential Experience Required

  • Previous cleaning experience.
  • Experience within schools, commercial buildings, offices, healthcare, or public sector environments is desirable.
  • Understanding of cleaning procedures and safe use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS (mandatory).
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday afternoon shifts.

Additional Information to Note

  • Location: Hobart High School, Norwich, NR14 6JU.
  • Shift Pattern:
    • Monday to Friday
    • 15:30 – 19:30
  • Enhanced DBS required.
  • Supplier submission deadline: 16th October 2026.
  • We work on bi-weekly payment schedule.
