Cleaner
At Mitie, we create clean, safe, and welcoming places where people can thrive. We are looking for an experienced Cleaner to join our team in a busy shopping centre environment.
This is a customer-facing role, so you'll need to be friendly, professional, and able to communicate confidently with customers, colleagues, and contractors. You'll work across both internal and external areas, helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness at all times.
Contract Details
- Contract Type: PERMANENT
- Hours: 40 Hours per week working any 5 days out of 7.
- Pay Rate: £14.80
- Location: Southside Shopping Centre Wandsworth SW18 4TF
What You'll Be Doing
- Cleaning and maintaining shopping mall public areas to a high standard.
- Cleaning external areas, including service yards, loading bays, and car parks.
- Following daily cleaning schedules and service requirements.
- Using cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and correctly.
- Carrying out waste collection and recycling duties.
- Reporting any maintenance, safety, or cleanliness issues.
- Providing excellent customer service in a busy public environment.
- Following all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.
- Working both independently and as part of a team.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous cleaning experience.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Ability to read instructions, work schedules, and safety information.
- Basic IT skills, including using a smartphone or tablet for work-related tasks.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, hardworking, and professional.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage workload effectively.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Desirable
- Experience working in a shopping centre, retail, or public-facing environment.
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment, machinery, and cleaning chemicals.
- Understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.
