Cleaner Position
We are seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Cleaner to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our rail maintenance facility. You will play a critical role in ensuring our operational areas—including maintenance sheds, workshops, inspection pits, and maintenance roads—are kept in a safe, clean, and functional condition to support our engineering teams.
Rate of Pay: £13.45 per hour
Position Type: Permanent
Type of Employment: Full Time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: This is a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (6:00am to 16:00 pm & 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm), 10 hours per shift
Location: Hitachi, Deadmans Lane, Derby, England DE24 8BS
Responsibilities
In your new role as a Cleaner, you will:
- Ensure equipment is kept clean, well maintained, and in safe working order and meeting all agreed SLAs.
- Build your knowledge and understanding of the designated cleaning area, when the work needs to be carried out, and all cleaning equipment and chemicals used on the premises while following Health and Safety requirements.
- Undertake successfully all training required to deliver the cleaning role.
- Work within a team and under your own initiative.
- Build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.

Requirements
To be successful in this role you will need:
- The ability to communicate and read basic English.
- Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.
- A flexible approach to the role.
- Open, honest, self-driven, and determined.
- Reliable and hardworking with a professional attitude.
