Cleaner (Temp)
Cleaner/Housekeeper – Temporary Maternity Cover Role
Location: Alanbrooke Barracks, Thirsk, YO7 3EY
Pay: £12.71 per hour (£13,263.65 per annum)
Contract Type: Temporary (maternity cover)
Duration: July 2026 – July 2027
Hours: 20 hours/week (Mon–Fri, flexible to school hours)
Shift times: Mon–Fri, flexible
About the Role
Join Aramark UK as a Cleaner/Housekeeper at Alanbrooke Barracks, Thirsk.
You’ll ensure accommodation, living spaces, and sanitary areas remain clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of cleaning in the Warrant Officers’ & Sergeant’s Mess
- Work independently and collaboratively to cover all daily tasks efficiently
- Perform duties including:
- General ablution and kitchen cleaning
- Sweeping, mopping, hoovering
- Waste disposal (adhering to waste segregation protocols)
- Making-up bedrooms for guests
- Report hazards and inspect equipment for safety
- Notify management of any equipment issues or maintenance needs

- Previous cleanliness experience is desirable, but full on-site training provided
- Eligibility to work in the UK with 3+ years of residence required
- Security checks are mandatory for this role
- Access to reliable transportation due to site location and limited public transport
