Job Title: Cleaner / Cover Cleaner
Contract: Permanent
Type of Employment: Part-time
Hours: 14+ hours per week contract, plus cover, depending on business needs
Rate of Pay: From £12.71 per hour (Weekend Shifts pay more)
Contracted Hours:
- Thursday and Friday 4-8 pm (8 hours)
- Car park cleaning 2 days a week (6 hours)
Shift Cover Required:
- Monday to Sunday (weekends and mid-week cover shifts)
Location: Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, Hampshire, England, RG21 4AH
Requirement: A clean UK Driving Licence (or working towards getting one), with access to a company pool vehicle.
We are looking for a dedicated Cover Cleaner & Public Space Cleaning Operative to join our team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to maintain all cleaning public toilets, equipment, and areas in a clean, well-maintained, and safe condition, adhering to our Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will gain a comprehensive understanding of your designated cleaning area, including optimal hours for cleaning tasks and the specific cleaning equipment and chemicals used on-site, while complying with Health and Safety regulations.
The Current Role Will be 5 Hours a day cleaning at one site, with the additional hours of cover cleaning.
Working Hours
As a Cleaning operator, you will work set and flexible hours. They could be split from 5 to 8-hour shifts. You'll need to be flexible as there will be day shifts, some evenings, and Some Weekends to provide coverage for absences within our team. Your availability for morning, daytime, or evening shifts is essential.

To succeed in this role, you will need to complete all necessary cleaning and operational training independently. Team collaboration is crucial, but you should also be comfortable working independently when needed.
