Permanent Contract with a School
Umbrella Rate: £123.78 per day umbrella
Summary
The School Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment across the school premises. The role involves cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors, washrooms, communal areas, and other designated spaces to a high standard, while following the school's health and safety, hygiene, and safeguarding requirements. You will contribute to creating an environment that supports the wellbeing, health, and learning of pupils, staff, and visitors.

- Carrying out routine cleaning duties including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, polishing, dusting, and washing surfaces.
- Cleaning and maintaining sanitary and toilet areas to a high standard of hygiene.
- Emptying litter bins and disposing of waste safely and appropriately.
- Safely operating mechanical cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuum cleaners, polishing, and scrubbing machines).
- Using cleaning chemicals safely in accordance with COSHH and maintaining stock levels of consumables.
- Reporting faults, damage, defects, or health and safety hazards to the Cleaning Services Manager.
- Following all relevant health, safety, and safeguarding procedures.

Experience
- Experience of working safely with cleaning products and equipment.
- Experience of maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Qualifications
- Welsh language skills are desirable.
Additional Information
- 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 3:30pm – 7:30pm)
- Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List Check required.
- Driving license requirement: Not specified.
- We work on a biweekly payment schedule.
- This is an onsite role based in Monmouthshire.
