Job Overview
We're looking for an experienced Cleaning Manager to join our Facilities Team at the Royal United Hospitals Bath. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and hands-on leader to play a key role in delivering high-quality cleaning services across our hospital, helping to ensure a safe, welcoming and hygienic environment for patients, visitors and staff.
As a Cleaning Manager, you'll lead and support a large team of cleaning professionals, driving performance, maintaining exceptional standards, and identifying opportunities to improve the services we provide. Working closely with colleagues across the Trust, you'll help ensure our facilities support outstanding patient care while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Flexibility is essential, as you'll also provide management cover for annual leave, evenings and nights when required, as well as participating in one planned weekend per month.
Working Pattern: This role is primarily worked Monday to Friday, covering shifts between 12:00pm and 10:00pm (including 12:00pm to 8:00pm, 1:00pm to 9:00pm and 2:00pm to 10:00pm).
Main duties of the job
- Deliver managerial professional control of cleaning and general facilities services and contracts to a high standard within the hospital.
- Provide management and control of all cleaning services and general facilities operating procedures and applications to ensure that all statutory and quality standards are maintained.
- Deliver quality cleaning services to patients and staff monitoring the provision of these services against agreed standards ensuring remedial action is taken to rectify shortcomings in service delivery.
- Manage front-line cleaning teams, cleaning wards, clinical areas, departments, and outer areas.
- Provide for economical and correct use and distribution of equipment and materials ensuring stock control procedures are maintained.
- Deliver an efficient and speedy distribution service for issues of stock and non-stock items.
- Conduct HR investigations, writing case reports and presenting to senior managers.
- Ensuring your 100+ strong team are achieving key performance indicators in areas such as cleanliness, food hygiene and mandatory training.
- Manage a team of cleaning supervisors to ensure standards are maintained throughout the building.

Qualifications And Training
Essential criteria
- Educated to NVQ Level 5/HND or equivalent experience in a related service industry
- Management qualification or equivalent experience at senior level
Desirable criteria
- 2 Years Management Experience
- Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
Management Experience
Essential criteria
- Have experience of managing and motivating large teams in a facilities / softFM / housekeeping environment.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in the NHS
