Cleaning Manager
Location: Tameside - based from our office on Margaret Street, covering 8 Tameside Schools
Working hours: 38.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday
Contract: Full time, permanent

Robertson Facilities Management (RFM) provides hard and soft FM services, grounds maintenance, and energy services for single and multi-site locations throughout the UK. RFM has grown significantly since its inception in 1999, with a turnover of £181m for FY2025 and employs more than 1500 people. We are now on a growth trajectory, with ambitious plans to grow the business to £300m turnover by 2030. Our plans for growth require RFM to ‘make the market’ and to be at the forefront of high-value opportunities in the FM marketplace.
Your new role
What you’ll do:
As Cleaning Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the delivery of the Cleaning Service for our client in Tameside in line with KPIs.
- Working closely with school site managers
- Managing cleaning services across 8 schools
- Managing cleaning staff and supervisors, training compliance, and rotas
- Supporting catering administration as required
- Allocation of work, quality control, and audits
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and COSHH
- Maintaining site cleanliness standards
- Delivering toolbox talks, payroll timesheets, and H&S documentation
- Handling HR and Recruitment needs as relevant with support from HR and Recruitment teams
- Responding to helpdesk instructions
- Supporting budget and stock control
- Cover emergency situations – hands-on approach with supporting cleaners and supervisors.

About you:
- Previous experience as a Cleaning Manager across multiple sites
- PFI experience desirable
- Education sector experience desirable
- Methodical approach
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Good Health & Safety knowledge (IOSH desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
The successful candidate will require an Enhanced DBS with Child Barred List Check before starting in the job.
