Location: Morpeth, Northumberland, NE61 1AN Job Type: Temporary to Permanent Opportunity Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:45am – 9:45am
- Saturday: 9:00am – 10:00am Total Hours: 6 hours per week Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour (PAYE) Start Date: To Be Confirmed
Job Overview We are currently recruiting for a reliable and professional Cleaning Operative to work within a financial services environment in Morpeth. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity offering regular part-time hours with the potential for long-term employment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation while ensuring a safe and secure environment for staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- General cleaning of office and customer-facing areas
- Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors
- Dusting and wiping surfaces, desks and touch points
- Cleaning kitchen and welfare facilities
- Cleaning toilets, washrooms and replenishing consumables
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
- Ensuring cleaning equipment and materials are used safely and stored correctly
- Reporting maintenance issues and health and safety concerns
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation at all times
- Using the site's telephone-based time and attendance system

Candidate Requirements
- Previous commercial cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Comfortable working alone and taking responsibility for site security procedures
- Ability to act as a key holder and operate alarm systems where required
- Excellent attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual and professional approach
- Good communication skills
- Right to work in the UK
Pre-Employment Requirements Successful candidates will be required to:
- Complete a Basic DBS check
- Complete financial services referencing checks (no credit check required)
- Provide valid Right to Work documentation
- Participate in site-specific induction and security procedures
- Use the mandatory telephone-based time and attendance system

Desirable Experience
- Previous experience cleaning office or financial services environments
- Knowledge of COSHH and safe use of cleaning chemicals
- Experience of lone working and key holder responsibilities
