Cleaning Operative – Part-Time (15 Hours/Week)
Location: North Bromsgrove High School, Bromsgrove
Hours: 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM*
About the Role
BAM FM, part of BAM Group – a leading European construction company – is recruiting a Cleaning Operative to support the maintenance of a high school campus in North Bromsgrove.
This role delivers essential cleaning services to ensure a safe, hygienic, and well-maintained environment for staff, students, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Deep Cleaning & Maintenance
• Clean buildings, surfaces, fixtures, and fittings as per premises specifications • Thoroughly clean floors, walls, partitions, and internal woodwork • Maintaining cleanliness in kitchens, catering areas, toilets, changing rooms, and other sanitary facilities • Approved disposal of waste materials and hygiene products • Ensure equipment storage areas remain clean and orderly
Regular & Specialised Cleaning Tasks
• Operate special cleaning programmes as scheduled • Rotate cleaning duties according to automated systems • Maintain whiteboards, communications systems, and data log systems • Refill and replace consumables as required

Environmental Safety & Security
• Secure premises at the end of each shift, monitoring entrances/exits • Report any security breaches, damages, or defects to the appropriate team • Switch off non-essential lights and equipment for energy efficiency
Health & Safety Compliance
• Adhere to all health and safety policies, including COSHH, manual handling, and clean room procedures • Train colleagues in the safe and effective use of cleaning equipment/methods • Maintain a clean stock supply area and log stock inventory
Requirements
Desired Skills
• Experience in cleaning operations, such as schools, hospitals, or commercial premises (not essential but preferred)
Personal Attributes
• Good time management and attention to detail • A willingness to learn new cleaning techniques • Dependable and motivated in a team environment • plasterboard/paint repair and sound tool knowledge (advantageous but not essential)
