Location: Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG24 2FD

Job Type: Temporary Holiday Cover Assignment

Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00pm – 7:00pm (10 hours per week)

Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour (PAYE)

Assignment Dates: 24 August 2026 – 29 August 2026

Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and professional Cleaning Operative to provide holiday cover at a commercial office facility in Newark, Nottinghamshire. This is a temporary assignment offering regular weekday evening hours.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout the premises while working safely and independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out general cleaning duties throughout office and communal areas
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
  • Cleaning desks, workstations, and high-touch surfaces
  • Cleaning kitchens, breakout areas, and welfare facilities
  • Cleaning washrooms and replenishing consumables
  • Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately
  • Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and presentation
  • Reporting maintenance issues and health and safety concerns
  • Ensuring cleaning equipment and materials are used safely and stored correctly

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous commercial cleaning experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Comfortable working as a lone worker where required
  • Must be willing to act as a key holder and operate alarm systems if applicable
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional approach
  • Good communication skills
  • Right to work in the UK

Mandatory Requirements

Successful candidates must:

  • Provide valid Right to Work documentation at induction
  • Be comfortable using a telephone-based time and attendance system
  • Be able to work independently and responsibly
  • Be comfortable operating alarm systems and acting as a key holder where required
  • Provide valid photographic identification prior to commencing work
