Job Type: Temporary Holiday Cover Assignment
Assignment Dates: 24th August 2026 – 29th August 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00pm – 7:00pm (10 hours per week)
Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour (PAYE)

Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and professional Cleaning Operative to work at a commercial office facility in Newark. This is a temporary holiday cover assignment offering part-time evening hours.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- General cleaning of office and communal areas
- Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors
- Dusting and wiping desks, surfaces and touch points
- Cleaning kitchens and welfare facilities
- Cleaning toilets, washrooms and replenishing consumables
- Emptying waste bins and disposing of waste appropriately
- Ensuring cleaning equipment and materials are used safely and stored correctly
- Reporting any maintenance issues or health and safety concerns
- Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and presentation at all times
- Using the site's telephone-based time and attendance system

Candidate Requirements
- Previous commercial cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Comfortable working alone and taking responsibility for site security procedures
- Ability to act as a key holder and operate alarm systems where required
- Excellent attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual and professional approach
- Good communication skills
- Right to work in the UK

- Complete financial services and referencing checks
- Provide valid Right to Work documentation at induction
- Participate in site-specific induction and security procedures
- Use the mandatory telephone-based time and attendance system
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience cleaning office or commercial environments
- Knowledge of COSHH and safe use of cleaning chemicals
- Experience of lone working and key holder responsibilities
