Cleaning Supervisor - Brookfield Shopping Centre, Cheshunt

Location:

Brookfield Shopping Centre, Halfhide Lane, Cheshunt, EN8 0NN

Pay Rate:

£14.50 per hour

Hours:

Average 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern:

5 days out of 7, Monday to Sunday

Working Hours:

08:00 - 16:00

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Cleaning Supervisor to join our team at Brookfield Shopping Centre in Cheshunt. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys managing people, maintaining high standards, and delivering exceptional customer service within a busy retail environment.

You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day cleaning operation across the shopping centre, leading a team of approximately ten cleaning staff and ensuring the site remains safe, clean, and welcoming for retailers, visitors, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of approximately 10 cleaning operatives.
  • Manage daily staffing levels, rosters, and schedules to ensure full site coverage.
  • Recruit, induct, train, and develop team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and support.
  • Monitor cleaning standards through regular inspections and quality audits.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and company policies.
  • Order cleaning materials, consumables, and equipment.
  • Monitor stock levels and control site budgets effectively.
  • Liaise with centre management, retailers, contractors, and visitors.
  • Resolve operational issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to staffing, training, attendance, and site operations.
  • Promote excellent customer service standards across the team.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous supervisory or management experience within the cleaning industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience working in a commercial, retail, or shopping centre environment is desirable.
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competent with record keeping and administration.
  • A proactive and professional approach to work.
  • Own transport is essential.
