Job Role: Cleaning Supervisor

Working Hours: 45 hours per week, as per site rota (including weekends)

Pay: £15.80 per hour

Location: The Elephant, Elephant & Castle, London

Anchor Group Services is recruiting for a Cleaning Supervisor at The Elephant, a landmark mixed-use development at the heart of Elephant & Castle. Bringing together retail, residential, and public spaces, The Elephant is set to become a vibrant destination where residents, visitors, retailers, and communities come together.

This is a unique opportunity to join a flagship London mobilisation from day one, helping to establish standards, culture, and service excellence across a brand-new development. As a Cleaning Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, leading frontline cleaning teams, and ensuring exceptional service standards are delivered across the development.

About the Role

As a Cleaning Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and customer service across The Elephant. Leading and supporting a team of Cleaning and Waste Operatives, you will oversee daily cleaning operations, conduct inspections and quality audits, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and occupiers.

You will lead by example, supporting the Dual Services Manager to drive high standards, develop team performance, and ensure all cleaning activities are delivered in line with site procedures and health & safety requirements.

Duties Include:

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate the cleaning team to deliver consistently high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and customer service across the development.
  • Organise staff rotas and daily deployment, arranging cover for sickness, holidays, and other absences to maintain operational continuity.
  • Carry out cleaning duties and support the team as required, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standard.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits, providing guidance and support to ensure service standards are consistently achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, COSHH, and site-specific procedures.
  • Respond to customer requests, complaints, and operational issues promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor cleaning equipment, consumables, and stock levels, reporting any faults, shortages, or maintenance requirements.
  • Complete all required records, audits, and compliance documentation accurately, supporting the smooth operation of the cleaning service.
  • Work closely with Security, Maintenance, and Management teams to support site operations and service excellence.
  • Complete any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Previous cleaning, facilities, or soft services supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of cleaning standards and methods.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and COSHH requirements.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and manage teams effectively.
  • Experience conducting inspections, audits, and quality checks.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Customer-focused approach and confidence managing complaints professionally.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends.
