Cleaning Supervisor - High View Primary
£30,043.26 Pro rata (£13.01 an hour)
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Cleaning Supervisor to oversee cleaning operations at High View Primary. To carry out specified cleaning duties and to provide general on-site supervision for a small number of staff across a small number of buildings. Provision of an effective and efficient service delivery in accordance with customer requirements across a full range of cleaning operations.
Provision of effective supervisory support to the on-site cleaning staff.
The role is 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday 5:00am - 7:00am, then 5:00pm - 6:00pm.
Main Responsibilities
- To lock and secure the school in the morning and evening.
- Carry out routine and non-routine cleaning duties in accordance with the cleaning specification and to the desired quality.
- Ensure the effective use of cleaning chemicals and products, as per the standards guidance and training provided.
- Effective and safe manual handling of equipment and use of step ladders.
- Effective and safe use of relevant cleaning equipment.
- Organisation and monitoring of staff under their control to ensure attendance, cover for absence through sickness and holidays etc and achievement of relevant cleaning standards.
- Ensure relevant Health & Safety of all employees within their control.
- Ensure all cleaning standards are maintained and adhered to at all times.
- Ensure all relevant paperwork relating to personnel, wages and training issues are completed, checked and submitted at the designated times.
- Completion of relevant documents relating to building service information, such as additional work sheets.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is updated when issued, including updating the information file.
- Assist in the interview and selection of cleaning staff and arrange on-site induction and ensure that all new starters complete the Cleaning Training Manual within 3 months of commencing employment.
- Maintain effective communications with staff and customers, ensuring good customer care procedures are adopted.
- Ensure good staff morale.
- Responsible for the ordering of cleaning materials/equipment necessary to deliver the cleaning service.
- Identify staff training requirements to the Area Operations Manager for action.
- Attend relevant training courses and management meetings as required.
- Any other duties commensurate with the grade and falling within the scope of the post, as requested by Barnsley Norse Management.

- Proven experience in a supervisory cleaning role, ideally across multiple sites.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Confident using smartphones/tablets for reporting and scheduling tasks.
- Flexibility to work early mornings and evenings.
