Cleaning Supervisor – Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service Contract
Are you an experienced cleaner or cleaning supervisor looking for your next opportunity? Join Norse Group and help support the delivery of cleaning services across the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service contract.
This is a part-time role, working 20 hours per week. The role will be based in Ipswich, where the cleaning stores are located, but will involve regular travel across multiple fire stations and associated sites using a company van.
You will support the cleaning team, check standards, help manage stock, arrange cover where needed, and keep in regular contact with the Facilities Manager.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the cleaning team across the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service contract, including day-to-day staff support, annual leave requests, sickness cover, and general queries.
- Visit sites regularly to check cleaning standards, pick up any concerns, and help make sure the service is being delivered as expected.
- Help manage cleaning stock across the sites and main store, including checking stock levels, keeping the store organised, making up orders, and delivering stock where needed.
- Liaise with cleaning staff, site contacts, the Facilities Manager, and wider team to help deal with cleaning issues, missed cleans, or service concerns.
- Support the contract where needed with toolbox talks, basic training, team updates, and occasional cleaning cover during periods of absence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
