Job Role
This role will be based on the University of Leeds main campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Do you have the organisational skills and operational oversight needed to manage a high-volume, national application service? Can you co-ordinate people, processes, and compliance requirements to ensure seamless delivery during peak periods? Are you an experienced administrator and team co-ordinator who thrives on improving systems, solving problems, and delivering excellent stakeholder service?
About the Clearing House
The Clearing House is a registered educational charity based within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Leeds. It provides a centralised application service for postgraduate clinical psychology programmes across Great Britain and has been operating for over 40 years.
Working in partnership with approximately 30 university-based clinical psychology programmes, the Clearing House delivers a high-volume, cyclical service, processing around 6,500 applications and 13,000 references annually. Delivery of the service during peak periods requires careful planning and co-ordination. The service operates within defined procedures and regulatory frameworks, with a cyclical peak between November and January requiring effective co-ordination of staff and resources. This includes additional working hours being offered to permanent staff, alongside the recruitment and supervision of temporary staff.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
