Job Summary
The Outpatient Administration team work in collaboration with the Referral and Booking Service, Outpatient Nursing, Switchboard, Phlebotomy, and the Robotic Process Automation teams. Together, we form the Outpatient Clinical Service Unit. The Outpatient Administration team is based across five sites – Leeds General Infirmary, Chapel Allerton Hospital, Seacroft Hospital, Wharfedale Hospital, and St James University Hospital; and two Community Diagnostic Centres at Beeston and Armley. The main duty of this role is to provide administration support to the Outpatient clinics at both Chapel Allerton and Wharfedale Hospitals. The administration support includes computer-based work using our Patient Administration System and providing front-of-house reception support, delivering a high standard of patient care. Our Clerical Officer team ensure all paperwork and systems are prepared in advance of Outpatient appointments. They also provide receptionist support across a number of reception areas; book patient appointments in person and by telephone; and ensure all post-clinic actions are completed timely.

We are also seeking someone who is a good team player, with the ability to work on their own initiative. 34 hour post: 4 days 8am - 5pm
25.5 hour post: 3 days 8am - 5pm

What You Will Bring To The Role
- Literacy and numeracy skills required for accurate record-keeping, appointment management, and receptionist duties.
- A commitment to undertake mandatory and role-specific training as required, including additional training to meet service changes and developments.
- A clear insight into the duties and responsibilities of the post, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the role and the impact it has on patient experience and the wider service.
- Self-motivation and a commitment to provide an efficient, high-quality service in a busy and demanding environment.
- Reliability and dependability with a consistent approach to attendance, timekeeping, and work responsibilities.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to duties and working practices, responding efficiently and positively to changing service needs.
- Competent keyboard skills with the ability to complete work accurately and efficiently to maintain a high-quality service.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate politely, clearly, and sensitively with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- An ability to work independently using own initiative and judgment, within established Trust policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- An ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient-centered services.
