Description
8DB, the integrated barristers chambers within the DAC Beachcroft group, was founded and developed by the industry-leading barristers for the in-house advocacy model.
The aim of the team is simple: to bring the services of the Bar to our clients via a streamlined and quality service. Our team of barristers and advocates, centrally clerked, work with both internal and external clients to deliver the advisory, drafting, and advocacy they might otherwise instruct chambers for.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our integrated barristers chambers, 8DB, to work within the clerking team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The purpose of the role is to ensure that a high-quality service is provided to all clients and to ensure a high standard of support is provided for all our Barristers and Advocates.
Whilst we are ideally looking for an experienced Clerk, we also welcome applications from those looking to start their clerking career with our support, guidance, and training.
The preferred locations for the position are Birmingham, Bristol, London, Manchester, but we welcome applications from candidates nationwide. Given our firm’s flexible working policy, location will not be a restricting factor to applications.
Experienced clerks will be able to work fully remote.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
