JOB TITLE: Clerk of Works

DIVISION: Building Consultancy – Contractor Services

OFFICE: Home Based with UK Regional Travel

We are looking to recruit several Clerk of Works to support our growing Building Consultancy division. The role involves undertaking property inspections on insurance funded repair projects administered under JCT Contracts, Reinstatement Cost Assessments (RCAs) and carrying out audit and quality inspections on our approved panel of contractors.

We are seeking the best candidates for this role and therefore welcome applications from individuals located across the UK. Key Skills:

• Good knowledge of residential and commercial building construction methods
• Strong understanding of property inspection, measurement and defect identification
• Experience undertaking site inspections and preparing detailed inspection reports
• Experience monitoring construction quality and contractor performance
• Ability to identify poor workmanship, construction defects and non-compliant works
• Good understanding of construction health and safety requirements
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy when collecting and recording site information
• Competent user of Microsoft Office and digital surveying tools
• Ability to work independently and manage a busy schedule of site inspections
• Professional and customer-focused approach when dealing with policyholders, contractors, insurers and colleagues
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the allocated region
• Knowledge of JCT Contracts and insurance repair projects would be advantageous
