Your impact
As a Clerk of Works professional, you will play a key role in supporting the Project, ensuring construction works are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with contract requirements, specifications and regulatory standards.
- Operate at the heart of site delivery, providing construction assurance, overseeing workmanship and quality, and acting as a trusted interface between site teams, project leadership and key stakeholders.
- Contribute to the establishment and leadership of the Engineering Assurance sub-function, supporting high-performance delivery on a technically complex scheme.
You will bring a strong site-based background with over five years’ experience in construction supervision or management, ideally on major road or infrastructure schemes. You’re comfortable operating at the sharp end of delivery—inspecting works, challenging standards where needed, and ensuring everything on site aligns with specifications, regulations and best practice. From earthworks and drainage to bridges and structures, you understand what good looks like and you know how to uphold it in a live, urban construction environment.
This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys being close to the work, values quality and safety, and is motivated by delivering infrastructure that will benefit communities for generations.
Responsibilities
- Assist the NEC4 Project Supervisor in overseeing all construction assurance activities on site
- Inspect and monitor workmanship, quality and safety across civil works including earthworks, drainage, bridges and structures
- Ensure works comply with Works Requirements, specifications, Irish Building Regulations and Health & Safety standards
- Support the establishment and leadership of the Engineering Assurance sub-functional area
- Contribute to financial, resource and programme planning for the scheme
- Coordinate and oversee day-to-day activities of Clerks of Works within the team
- Act as a key point of contact between site, project core teams and relevant stakeholders
- Encourage knowledge transfer and collaboration across consultant and client teams
- Support reporting requirements in line with governance and PMO expectations
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement and best practice across site activities

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
