Are you highly organised, detail-oriented and looking for a flexible role that makes a real difference to school leadership and governance?
Broadwindsor CE VC Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Clerk to Governors to support our dedicated Governing Body.
As Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective operation of the Governing Body, working closely with the Headteacher and Chair of Governors. You will organise meetings, prepare agendas, take accurate minutes, provide procedural guidance, keep governors informed of legislative and policy updates, and ensure the highest levels of confidentiality and professionalism.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
- Has excellent administrative, organisational and ICT skills.
- Possesses strong written communication and literacy skills.
- Can work independently and manage their own workload effectively.
- Has a keen eye for detail and can produce accurate meeting records.
- Is able to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion at all times.

Previous experience as a Clerk to Governors would be an advantage, but it is not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided through Dorset Governor Services and the National Governance Association (NGA).
About The Role
- Approximately 9 Full Governing Body meetings per year.
- Meetings are held in the afternoon or early evening, either in person or virtually.
- Minute writing and other administrative duties can be completed flexibly from home.
- Term Time Only
- 2 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
Salary
Actual Salary £1,202 - £1,221 pro rated per annum (Grade 5, SCP 5-6)
The salary shown is pro rata and includes paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements. Pay is made in equal monthly instalments and adjusted where necessary at the beginning or end of employment.
