Cheselbourne Village School Seeks Clerk to Governors
Cheselbourne Village School is seeking to appoint a reliable, organised, and professional Clerk to Governors to support our Governing Body.
The annual salary £1,455 - £1,478 is based on 2.5hrs per week, over 38 working weeks at Dorset Grade 5, SCP 5-6.
Pay award pending.
This is a vital role within the school, helping to ensure that governance arrangements run effectively and efficiently. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chair of Governors and Headteacher to organise meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, maintain records, and support governors in fulfilling their statutory responsibilities.

The role is largely flexible, with attendance required at governor meetings and occasional additional meetings throughout the academic year.
Main Duties Include

- Organising and attending governor meetings
- Preparing agendas in consultation with the Chair and Headteacher
- Taking accurate minutes and maintaining action logs
- Managing governor documentation and records
- Supporting compliance and governance administration
- Updating governance information on the school website and Google Drive
- Keeping up to date with relevant legislation and governance guidance
