Company Description

Tila Commercial is a Commercial Property Management company providing personalised Property Management, Facilities Management, and Property Accounting services.

Role Description

To work closely with the Head of Accounting in ensuring that the highest standard of accounting services are provided to our clients. To a limited degree to also assist the Head of Accounting in company accounting tasks

Salary

£30k – £35k pa depending on experience

Hours

35hrs per week Mon – Fri, hours are flexible

Location

Home based; able to visit office in London Farringdon if/when required

Annual Leave

  • Contractual: 24 days + bank holidays
  • Non-contractual: 3 Days Christmas + 1 Day Birthday

Start date

Mid November

Key Accountabilities

Sales ledger & credit control, including:

  • Issuing charges to tenants, recording receipts, answering queries in a timely manner
  • Setting up tenancies, charges and budgets on Qube
  • Arrears reporting & chasing in close coordination with Credit Controller
  • Participation in direct debit collection process

Purchase ledger, including:

  • Supporting accounts’ assistant in processing of invoices from suppliers in a timely and accurate manner and circulate to appropriate management for authorisation
  • Weekly supplier payment runs
  • Supporting accounts’ assistant in answering Supplier queries

Client reporting & relationship, including:

  • Preparation of Client reports (including but not limited to income & expenditure reports, debtors’ reports, VAT returns)
  • Preparation of year end property accounts and liaising with auditors (if required)
  • Participation in Client meetings where required
  • Month end process on Qube

New and outgoing instructions, including:

  • Assisting Head of Accounting and Senior Client Accountant in ensuring smooth onboarding of new client instructions, in line with PMA and RICS requirements
  • Assisting Head of Accounting and Senior Client Accountant in ensuring smooth offboarding/handover of outgoing client instructions, in line with PMA and RICS requirements

Banking

  • Daily banking (cash book & Qube postings)
  • Liaising with tenants and external parties in identifying unallocated receipts
  • Monthly three-way bank reconciliations

Finance Support

  • To provide general support to all Finance staff and colleagues across the group
  • To provide cover for roles and duties during periods of absence
  • To maintain a confidential electronic filing system to ensure that accurate up to date information is available to the Finance department
  • To respond to requests for information relating to the department

General

  • To ensure that maximum use is made of information technology systems within the department
  • To ensure that the values of the organisation are displayed throughout all work activities
  • To carry out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested

Skills, knowledge, and experience

Must have:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar property management role
  • Proficiency in using Excel and other programmes in the MS Office suite
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise work
  • Familiar with RICS Service Charge Code
  • Experience using Qube (preferred) or similar property management system

Preferred:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good customer relationship skills

Technical / professional qualifications

  • AAT as a minimum or significant experience in the role
