Client Accountant – Henley-on-Thames
£45k–£55k | Hybrid & Flexible Working | Study Support
Our client is an established and forward-thinking accountancy and tax advisory practice based in Henley-on-Thames, working with a diverse portfolio of clients including SMEs, high net worth individuals, and larger multinational businesses. They are looking for an experienced Client Accountant to join their team. This is a varied practice role offering a strong mix of accounts, tax, VAT, bookkeeping, and management accounts, alongside regular client contact.

The Role
As a Client Accountant, you will work closely with clients and the wider team, taking responsibility for a varied portfolio of accounting work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
- Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
- Completing daily bookkeeping
- Preparing and filing monthly and quarterly VAT returns across all types of VAT schemes
- Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Liaising with clients to resolve queries and ensure work is completed to a high standard
- Assisting with the development and training of junior members of the team
- Delivering excellent client service
- Supporting Managers with ad-hoc work

About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- AAT qualified and at least part-qualified ACA or ACCA, with a minimum of two years' experience working within practice.
- Working knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102
- Experience with CCH, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and/or Alphatax would be advantageous, although not essential
- Ability to develop strong client relationships
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Hands-on and diligent approach
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to work under your own initiative and meet tight deadlines
- Strong work ethic and a collaborative approach
