Central London | £40,000 - £50,000 + Benefits

A well-established and expanding property organisation is seeking a Client Accountant to join its finance team in Central London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a property accounting professional to take ownership of a portfolio of properties, work closely with key stakeholders, and play a vital role in delivering accurate financial reporting and exceptional client service.

The Opportunity

As Client Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial reporting and accounting requirements for a portfolio of properties, ensuring the timely production of financial information, and maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.

Working closely with property managers, clients, and external stakeholders, you will become a trusted finance partner, helping to support informed decision-making and ensuring the smooth financial management of client assets.

This position would suit an individual with experience in property or client accounting who enjoys building relationships, taking ownership, and delivering a high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial reporting requirements for a portfolio of client properties.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Produce service charge accounts, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain and reconcile client bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Process rent, service charge, and other property-related transactions.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.
  • Support year-end accounting processes and liaise with auditors when required.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Respond to client and property management queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Monitor aged debtors and creditors and assist with collection activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and deliver work to agreed deadlines.

About You

You will be a proactive and organized finance professional with experience within property accounting, client accounting, or service charge accounting. You will enjoy working in a client-facing environment, have excellent attention to detail, and possess strong communication skills that enable you to build effective relationships across the business.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Client Accountant, Property Accountant, Service Charge Accountant, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of property accounting and service charge accounting.
  • Experience preparing financial reports, reconciliations, and budgets.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
  • Experience using property management or accounting software would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • AAT qualified, studying towards ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience would be advantageous.
