CLIENT ACCOUNTS - MANAGER

Chaneys Chartered Surveyors
Competitive
Hybrid - Reading (RG2 6UB)

Role Overview

You will lead our dedicated Client Accounts function, ensuring the smooth, accurate and timely handling of client money and service charge accounting across a varied residential and mixed-use portfolio. Working in a hybrid pattern from our Reading office (RG2 6UB), you will be the go-to person for financial stewardship, controls and reporting that give our clients and colleagues absolute confidence.

You will partner closely with Property Managers, internal teams, auditors and our clients to deliver year-end accounts, manage cashflow and arrears, and continuously improve processes. With the support of an engaged team and the backing of the Odevo Group, you will combine hands-on operational oversight with thoughtful leadership and coaching.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

Most days you will oversee the day-to-day running of the client accounting team, review key reconciliations and reports, and resolve queries promptly and professionally. You will set standards, refine processes, and ensure deadlines for billing, payments, audits and year-end packs are consistently met. You will lead by example to build a supportive, high-performing culture where accuracy, service and transparency are non-negotiable.

What Success Looks Like

  • Service charge accounts and year-end packs delivered right first time and on schedule, with clear, client-friendly narratives.
  • Bank reconciliations, payments and receipts processed daily with robust controls and zero unexplained variances.
  • Arrears reduced through proactive credit control, fair engagement and transparent reporting to stakeholders.
  • Clean audit outcomes with well-documented processes, timely responses and minimal adjustments.
  • Stakeholders rate communication as proactive, clear and solutions-focused, with queries resolved quickly.
  • The team is engaged, continually developing, and confidently cross-skilled to maintain resilience during peak periods.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
