At Howden, we're not just about insurance. We're about our people, our clients, and the relationships that make a difference. As we continue to grow our Mid-Market Practice, we're looking for a Client Advisory Team Manager to play a key role in building and developing a high-performing client servicing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an established people leader or an ambitious insurance professional ready to take their first step into line management.
You may currently be working as a Team Leader, Operations Manager, Senior Client Advisor, Client Executive or in a similar client-facing role and be looking for the opportunity to develop your leadership career within a business that empowers its people to make an impact. Working closely with the Head of Office, Client Directors and Client Managers, you'll help shape the servicing proposition, develop talent, support growth, and ensure our clients continue to receive the outstanding service they're known for.
What you'll be doing
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Client Advisors, creating an engaged, high-performing and collaborative culture.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, support and direction, ensuring excellent service standards are delivered consistently across the portfolio.
- Act as a visible role model for Howden's values, fostering a culture of accountability, development and continuous improvement.
- Support the growth and development of our MMP proposition, helping to build a scalable and sustainable servicing model.
- Work closely with Client Directors and Client Managers to ensure the successful delivery of client retention and renewal strategies.
- Oversee service delivery across a portfolio of clients, ensuring customer outcomes and service standards exceed expectations.
- Build strong relationships with key client stakeholders and act as an escalation point where required.
- Partner with Operations Manager to embed efficient working practices and support the adoption of new processes and ways of working.
- Support talent development, succession planning and future capability building within the team.
- Collaborate across the wider business to deliver the best outcomes for clients and colleagues.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
