Client Associate (Graduate Recruitment Consultant) | Central London, UK | Full-time, Permanent
HLX Life Sciences is a global life sciences recruitment company, founded in January 2024 with a mission to address the global shortage of skilled talent in the sector. With over 100 years of combined life sciences recruitment experience and an advisory board of scientific industry experts, we partner with clients across Pharma, Biotech, TechBio, CROs and CDMOs.
Backed by life sciences investors, we work with some of the most innovative biotech companies and leading life sciences VCs to support company growth and portfolio expansion. Since launching, we've rapidly grown to a team of 50 globally, with offices in London, Basel and Boston, and further international expansion on the horizon.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for ambitious, driven graduates to join our growing Central London team as Graduate Recruitment Consultants on a full-time, permanent basis (5 days on-site). No previous recruitment experience is required. We're looking for individuals with the right mindset, ambition and willingness to learn. This is an opportunity to kick-start your career in one of the most lucrative recruitment markets, working with innovative companies across the global life sciences industry.
You'll be trained to become a 360 Recruitment Consultant, learning everything from business development and building relationships with senior industry leaders to identifying and placing highly skilled professionals.
From day one, you'll work alongside experienced consultants, including £1M+ annual billers, gaining hands-on mentorship, structured training and exposure to what it takes to build a successful recruitment desk.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum 2:1 degree from a recognised university, ideally with a strong academic background
- Ambitious and financially motivated, with a genuine desire to build a successful, high-earning career
- Competitive and resilient, with the determination to succeed in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset, with the confidence and drive to take ownership of your own success
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage confidently with professionals at all levels
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Previous experience in sales, hospitality, customer-facing roles or competitive sports is advantageous but not essential
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Learning the full 360 recruitment process through structured training and hands-on mentorship
- Building relationships with clients and candidates across the global life sciences industry
- Identifying and engaging high-calibre professionals for specialist positions
- Developing business development skills, including outreach, client meetings and winning new accounts
- Working closely with senior consultants and leadership to understand international recruitment markets
- Building your own network and gradually taking ownership of your recruitment desk
