We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Scarsdale, Oakwood on a full-time/Part-time permanent basis.

Located within the heart of Oakwood, an exciting opportunity to join the team at our Scarsdale Vets Oakwood site is now available. Scarsdale Veterinary Group is a leading veterinary provider in the Midlands, based in Derby. We are committed to delivering exceptional veterinary care for pets, horses, and farm animals, with a focus on outstanding customer service and high-quality care. We are considering full and part time for this position.
How You’ll Make a Difference
Your role as Client Care Advisor at Scarsdale Vets Oakwood will be very varied and fast paced. We see a mix of both routine and emergency medical and surgical cases and consistently strive to deliver the highest quality of care to our patients and our team is instrumental in delivering that ethos.
- We require a client care advisor to act as the face of the business– welcome all clients and patients to the practice, showing professionalism and care at all times.
- Manage client expectations – openly and confidently discussing client needs as appropriate to the role, referring to the clinical team as needed.
- Pro-actively manage appointments and client visits – booking and managing appointments as per protocol.
- Telephones – Answering calls and dealing with the call in a manner and as per expected standards.
- Be safe – Act in compliance with all legal and company-wide safety and wellbeing policies and procedures.
- Make a great impression – Work with all members of the team to maintain the practice to the highest standards of client and patient care in a welcoming and professional environment.
- Account management – Handling payments and charging for services provided by the practice, making sure all appointments, products and services are paid for and discussions are had with regards to insurance.
- Administration – To include managing client records including up-to-date contact details for all clients, appointment generation, and face-to-face, telephone, and email communication with clients and colleagues.
- Pet Health Club – Introduce clients to practice care plans and preventative pet health care.

The role profile gives a view of the key tasks of the role, the post holder will be expected to carry out other reasonable duties commensurate with their post as requested.
Working Pattern
- Flexible between 8am - 7pm Monday to Friday, every other Saturday 8.30am to 1pm.

Essential:
- Previous experience of working as part of an effective customer service team.
- Excellent Client Care skills (in person and telephone).
- The ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues.
- A proactive attitude, with openness to feedback and learning.
Desirable:
- Experience in a busy Reception.
- Veterinary Reception experience.
- Knowledge of Practice Veterinary systems.
- Knowledge of animal anatomy/ailments.
