Client Development Manager — Pharmaceutical Quality & Compliance Consultancy
Location: Remote / home-based, UK (Hertfordshire or Bedfordshire preferred) with UK and occasional international travel
Type: Full-time, 12-month fixed term with the option to become permanent
Package: £40,000 basic + uncapped profit share on the work you win (realistic on-target earnings £50,000-£55,000 in year one, £80,000+ from year two)
GxPAssure is an established and trusted quality consultancy. We work with a community of ex-regulators (FDA, MHRA, EMA) and senior industry consultants, supporting pharmaceutical and biotech clients worldwide in GMP, GDP, GLP and GCP compliance. Our work helps ensure that medicines are developed, manufactured, handled and supplied to the highest standards, protecting patients and regulatory integrity.
Demand for our services has grown almost entirely by referral. We now want someone to build on that deliberately: to find and win new clients, and to look after the ones we already have so well that they come back with the next project. This is a new role reporting directly to the CEO, with a real share in the results. It is one of two roles we are creating together: you win and keep the work; a Consulting Operations Manager runs the operations and logistics behind it.
What you will do:
- Find, qualify and win new clients in pharmaceutical and biotech quality, compliance and regulatory support, in the UK, Europe, the USA and Asia
- Work regulatory-trigger leads such as FDA warning letters and Form 483 observations, MHRA inspection findings and EU GMP non-compliance reports
- Lead discovery calls with prospective clients, bring our experts into technical scoping, and turn the conversation into a persuasive proposal at our standard rates
- Negotiate scope, price and timing with the client, within agreed commercial limits, and hand the agreed proposal to our operations team to take forward
- Own the relationship with every client account: account plans, regular reviews, and spotting the next need before the client does
- Represent GxPAssure at conferences and industry events and build a referral network among quality and regulatory decision-makers
- Keep the sales pipeline current and report on it monthly.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

- Excellent written English and the ability to turn a scoping conversation into a persuasive proposal
- Self-directed, organised and disciplined in keeping a pipeline current.
- Willing and able to travel, including overseas if required
