The Role
London Business School is looking for an experienced and commercially minded Client Director to join our Executive Education team on our London campus.
This is a senior client relationship role focused on building, developing, and managing high-quality relationships with large and medium-sized corporate clients. You will work in a matrix environment with learning specialists, account managers, faculty, marketing, bid, and business operations colleagues to identify opportunities, shape solutions, and secure new business.
You will typically manage a portfolio of existing clients while also leading activity to win new client relationships and secure new business contracts. You will be accountable for the success and profitability of client relationships, from qualification and pitching through to contracting, mobilization, and delivery oversight.

Main Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a portfolio of existing clients, building substantial, profitable, and enduring relationships.
- Define and execute strategic account development plans to expand client relationships and identify new opportunities.
- Work as part of the client team to ensure learning solutions are delivered to agreed budget, quality, and timeframe expectations.
- Drive a world-class client service, regularly reviewing quality and ensuring service meets client and stakeholder expectations.
- Anticipate and respond to complex client and stakeholder issues, resolving issues swiftly and escalating where appropriate.
- Qualify and scope new opportunities, developing responses to proposals, and maximizing the School’s likelihood of winning.
- Lead or contribute to commercial strategy for proposals in partnership with Bid and Business Operations teams.
- Engage with target clients aligned to agreed Custom Solutions targets by geography and industry.
- Develop specific outreach plans to identify and convert new business opportunities.
- Develop a deep understanding of London Business School’s offer and apply this knowledge to create effective client and stakeholder solutions.
- Own the pipeline for your area, ensuring accurate forecasting and continuous development of new opportunities.
- Lead negotiation of high-value and non-standard contracts and agreements with clients and stakeholders.
- Use insight into client needs, financial targets, and the School’s offer to ensure appropriate terms are agreed and delivered.
- Achieve or exceed revenue targets and contribute to wider team performance.

Who We Are Looking For
- Significant experience in consultative sales and developing solutions with demanding clients.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain client relationships at senior levels.
- Strong negotiation, networking, and influencing skills.
- The ability to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders and operate effectively with senior leaders.
- Experience of key account management and developing client relationships.
- Strong awareness of organizational activity, competitor schools, and wider market context.
- The ability to scan the horizon, identify industry best practice, and translate insight into future planning.
- Proven financial management skills and commercial acumen.
- Experience leading a team or operating in a senior leadership role.
- A collaborative, client-focused, and solutions-oriented approach.
- Confidence working in a complex, matrix environment.

For this role specifically, you will be expected to be on campus 2 days per week. We operate with 'core hours' – 10:00-15:00 – to maximize opportunities for connection and collaboration across teams during the working day. Outside of these hours, you may still be required for meetings or collaboration based on your role and customer needs. Additionally, we offer Protected Time - a flexible, one-hour slot, within the working week dedicated to your learning and development, wellbeing, or focused, quiet work.
