Client Director - Construction Risks - London

Are you passionate about building trusted relationships with major construction and development clients while influencing some of the UK's most significant projects? Do you have the expertise to help owners, developers, investors and funders navigate complex risks and deliver successful project outcomes? If so, then we would love to hear from you in connection with this new hybrid opportunity based within Aon’s flagship London office!

What the day will look like

  • Manage and grow relationships with a portfolio of major construction and development clients, acting as their trusted advisor.
  • Provide strategic advice on construction risk, insurance programmes, contractual risk allocation and project-specific exposures.
  • Lead renewal and placement activity, negotiating with insurers to secure the best outcomes for clients.
  • Collaborate with claims, legal, placement and specialist colleagues to deliver tailored solutions for complex projects.
  • Drive new business opportunities across Aon's construction capabilities, converting client needs into sustainable growth.
  • Represent Aon in the London construction market, sharing market insight, supporting colleagues and strengthening key industry relationships.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Proven experience in construction insurance broking, risk advisory, or a similar client-facing role, with the ability to lead complex client relationships.
  • Strong technical expertise in construction project insurance, including OCIPs, latent defects insurance, and project-specific risk solutions.
  • Ability to assess insurance provisions within construction, development, and funding agreements, identifying key risk and commercial implications.
  • A successful track record of developing client relationships, coordinating service delivery, and supporting business growth.
  • Confident engaging with developers, owners, investors, funders, insurers, and advisers, building credibility across the project lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, combined with strong commercial judgement, organisation, and a collaborative approach.
