Client Finance Accounting Technician

Department: Client Finance

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Cheltenham

Description

To provide a professional accounting service to Clients. This includes ensuring you complete all responsibilities, services and deliverables below in an accurate, timely, relevant, compliant and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure you deliver agreed services to clients in manner described above. Services may include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain accounting records
  • Prepare and check and process transactions and reference data on ledger
  • Reconcile balance sheet and P&L items
  • Settle payments in line with relevant delegated authority and monitor/resolve outstanding invoices/statements
  • Issue invoices/statements and monitor, chase and resolve outstanding balances
  • Match receipts to debts
  • Monitor cash balances
  • Assist with the preparation of management accounts, dashboards, KPIS, regulatory returns, cash analysis and forecasts

Other:

  • Assist with on-boarding of new clients and closedown of ceased clients.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, third parties and other Polo staff.
  • Advise managers of new/changed risks.
  • Ensure procedures and controls are documented, followed, reviewed, and updated.
  • Keep up with regulatory changes and work with clients, third parties and other Polo staff to ensure such changes are implemented in a controlled and timely manner.
  • Look for ways to improve receivables/services/deliverables/controls or decrease costs and work with clients, third parties and other Polo staff to ensure such changes are implemented in a controlled and timely manner.
  • Assist with ensuring receivables/services/deliverables/controls are as required and resolve any issues.
  • Assist with internal/external audits for clients/Polo.
  • Ensure information security rules are embedded in your work.
  • Other ad-hoc projects and tasks as required.

Knowledge and Qualifications

Knowledge of SUN/Q&A and internet banking is desirable
