Client Lead – Basis Global
This is a senior, client-facing role with clear accountability for revenue generation and account growth. It is centred on developing relationships, identifying opportunities, and ensuring clients derive maximum value from our partnership.
The role will involve working across a diverse client base, including both large, well-known brands and smaller, high-potential organisations, particularly within retail and media and entertainment.
Success in this role is defined by consistently achieving or exceeding financial targets. It involves building strong, long-term client relationships that drive repeat and expanded business, being recognised internally as a key contributor to commercial success and actively contributing to the organisation’s broader strategic growth objectives.
Role Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership & Account Growth
The primary focus of the role is to drive commercial performance across a portfolio of approximately 10 client accounts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and delivering against financial targets agreed at the start of the financial year
- Identifying and converting opportunities for organic account growth, including upsell and cross-sell initiatives
- Leading the development of proposals, pitches, and RFP responses, drawing on internal expertise as required
- Maintaining a forward-looking view of each account to ensure a consistent pipeline of opportunities
- Taking full accountability for the commercial performance and growth trajectory of assigned accounts

Client Leadership & Relationship Management
The Client Lead will act as the senior point of contact for their client portfolio, responsible for building strong, long-term relationships.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing trusted advisor relationships with senior client stakeholders
- Gaining a deep understanding of client business objectives and translating these into insight-led opportunities
- Providing proactive thinking and thought leadership, beyond responding to immediate briefs
- Ensuring a consistently high standard of client experience and satisfaction
- Taking ownership of any client issues and resolving them effectively and professionally
Internal Collaboration & Leadership
The Client Lead plays a critical role in ensuring alignment between client needs and internal execution.
You will:
- Work closely with internal delivery teams to ensure high-quality outputs
- Engage appropriate internal specialists to support proposals and client discussions
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including the Head of New Business, to align on commercial strategy
- Contribute to the broader strategic direction of the business as part of the senior leadership team

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Extensive experience within a research agency or insights environment
- Proven track record of managing and growing client accounts commercially
- Experience working with senior client stakeholders and managing complex relationships
- Strong understanding of a range of research methodologies (quantitative and qualitative)
- Demonstrated ability to deliver against revenue and GP targets
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
