Client Manager
Location: Stratford-upon-Avon
Working Arrangement: Hybrid Working Available (Minimum 3 Days Office-Based)
Package: £38,000 - £50,000 dependent on experience
Overview
An established accountancy practice is seeking a dynamic Client Manager to join a collaborative team of 14 in their Stratford-upon-Avon office. This position would suit a motivated individual who has gained solid experience as a Semi-Senior advising owner-managed businesses (small & micro limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships) on accounts and tax matters, now looking to step up into a Senior / Client Manager role.
Working alongside Senior Managers and Partners, this role involves managing client relationships, completing and reviewing technical work, and mentoring junior colleagues. Complex tax issues are handled by a dedicated Senior Tax Manager, making this ideal for someone confident in handling core business advice, basic personal tax, and profit extraction.
Job Responsibilities
- Client Management: Act as a key point of contact for clients, holding face-to-face meetings and handling routine queries regarding accounts, tax matters, and profit extraction.
- Technical Review & Delivery: Hands-on preparation and thorough review of accounts (including FRS 102 1a) and tax work completed by junior team members before submission to Senior Managers and Partners.
- Team Mentorship: Provide ongoing support, guidance, and technical assistance to junior accounts, bookkeeping, and tax staff in the office.
- Cross-Service Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across bookkeeping, VAT, management accounts, personal/business tax, company secretarial, and payroll functions.
- Business Advisory: Advise owner-managed businesses, sole traders, and limited company directors on basic personal tax affairs, Capital Gains Tax (CGT), and day-to-day accounting matters.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
