Client Manager – Agency Partnerships
About the role
Are you an experienced media or client professional looking for an opportunity to work with some of the UK’s leading agencies and best-loved brands? We have an exciting opportunity for a Client Manager to join the Asda Media team at Asda House. As a Client Manager, you will manage relationships with a portfolio of media agencies and their advertiser clients, helping them understand how Asda’s customer insight, first-party audiences and media channels can support their marketing objectives. You will work with agencies to identify opportunities for incremental investment across Asda Media’s onsite and offsite proposition. This could include sponsored products, onsite display, programmatic media, connected TV and paid social, supported by Asda’s rich first-party customer data.
Working closely with our Commercial, Client, Media, Insight and Operations teams, you will translate agency and advertiser briefs into relevant, insight-led media recommendations. You will support campaigns from initial opportunity through to activation and reporting, ensuring we deliver a high-quality experience for our agency partners and their clients.
You will be responsible for developing your agency relationships, managing your commercial pipeline and delivering against agreed revenue targets. You will also support the wider team in building agency understanding of Asda Media and establishing us as a trusted retail media partner.
Key responsibilities
- Build and manage strong day-to-day relationships with a portfolio of UK media agencies and their advertiser clients.
- Educate agency teams on Asda Media’s customer insight, first-party audiences, measurement capabilities and media opportunities.
- Understand agency and advertiser objectives and translate them into relevant, insight-led media recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to secure incremental investment from brand and media budgets beyond traditional supplier or trade funding.
- Develop proposals across Asda Media’s onsite and offsite channels, working with specialist teams to create integrated solutions.
- Manage opportunities from initial briefing and proposal development through to campaign handover, activation and reporting.
- Maintain an accurate commercial pipeline and provide clear forecasts against agreed revenue targets.
- Monitor account performance, identify risks and opportunities, and agree appropriate actions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with Client Assistants and campaign operations teams to ensure activity is briefed accurately and delivered effectively.
- Share campaign results and relevant insights with agency partners, using performance to support future investment.
- Develop knowledge of agency structures, planning cycles and client priorities to identify opportunities at the right time.
- Contribute to agency engagement sessions, presentations, training and wider Asda Media events.
- Support the development of consistent processes and ways of working across agency sales and campaign delivery.
- Keep up to date with developments across retail media, ecommerce, programmatic advertising and the wider agency market.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
