About the Role

It is an exciting time to join us at Redmayne Bentley. After recently celebrating our 150th year in business, we are embarking on the next stage of our firm-wide strategy to build, improve and develop upon our strong, historic foundations of award-winning client-centred service.

Our Client Onboarding team plays a critical role in maintaining those standards by ensuring new client and account requests are assessed, documented and completed accurately, efficiently and in line with regulatory expectations.

We need you to bring your experience and knowledge of onboarding best practice to help the team’s continuous improvement goals. Your prior exposure to the nuances and complexities of client onboarding journeys will be highly valued and play a key part in helping the team maintain our excellent service standards.

While this is not a client-facing role, you will act as a trusted internal specialist, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the business to provide guidance, manage complex onboarding queries and ensure decisions are clearly evidenced.

What we’re looking for

  • Extensive experience of end-to-end client and account onboarding, ideally gained within financial services or another regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of how AML, KYC, sanctions screening and wider regulatory requirements shape the onboarding journey.
  • Experience reviewing client and account documentation, identifying gaps, resolving issues and ensuring records are complete, accurate and audit-ready.
  • Confidence making risk-based decisions on the acceptance, rejection or escalation of onboarding requests in line with organisational standards and regulatory obligations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex case reviews, coordinate stakeholder input and provide clear, practical feedback to mid and senior-level colleagues.
  • Ability to produce clear outcome reporting that supports decision-making, evidences rationale and highlights trends, risks or process improvements.
  • Recognition as, or the potential to become, a subject matter expert in onboarding and associated workflows, including AML/KYC processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Comfortable being consulted as an internal specialist, providing guidance on onboarding queries and supporting colleagues with interpretation of requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive and thorough approach to managing workload, documentation and deadlines.
  • Strong organisation, planning, communication and escalation skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Confidence using IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel, and willingness to learn new processes, platforms and controls.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
