Sunstripe is a specialized BESS engineering and advisory company supporting renewable developers, IPPs & Utilities across the US and UK.
We are expanding our UK presence and are looking for a Client Partner – BESS Advisory to help build and grow our Battery Energy Storage Systems advisory practice across the UK. Based in Edinburgh, the role will initially focus on Scotland's rapidly evolving wind, BESS and grid infrastructure market.
The Client Partner will develop relationships with renewable asset owners, developers, IPPs and identify opportunities where Sunstripe's BESS engineering, grid and commercial advisory capabilities can create value. You will work closely with Sunstripe's engineering teams to take opportunities from initial client discussions through technical scoping, proposal development, award and long-term account growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage relationships with BESS and renewable energy asset owners across the UK.
- Originate BESS advisory, engineering and optimization engagements.
- Identify BESS opportunities across existing wind and renewable portfolios.
- Engage senior stakeholders across investment, development, asset management, engineering and commercial teams.
- Develop opportunities involving BESS sizing and optimization, renewable curtailment, grid integration, technical due diligence, Owner's Engineering and procurement advisory.
- Translate client investment and operational challenges into technical scopes for Sunstripe's engineering teams.
- Lead commercial discussions, proposals and negotiations through contract award.
- Develop individual projects into long-term, multi-project client relationships.
- Build relationships across the UK BESS ecosystem including asset owners, developers, investors, OEMs, EPCs and route-to-market providers.
- Represent Sunstripe at industry meetings, conferences and client events.

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for someone with strong relationships in the UK renewable energy market and the commercial ability to turn those relationships into meaningful client engagements:
- 6+ years of experience across BESS, renewable energy or power infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of the UK renewable energy and BESS market.
- Existing relationships with developers, IPPs, renewable asset owners, infrastructure investors or utilities.
- Experience in business development, advisory, project development, asset management, investment or commercial roles.
- Working knowledge of BESS economics, renewable integration, grid connections and UK electricity markets.
- Ability to engage confidently with both technical teams and senior commercial/investment decision-makers.
- Experience developing complex B2B relationships and converting them into long-term accounts.
- Strong commercial judgment, communication and relationship-management skills.
