Salary: A GBP 30,000+ depending on experience + Enhanced Bonus Scheme

Full Time, Permanent: 40 hours per week

Flexibility required for some evening and weekend work

Are you an experienced relationship manager with a strong commercial mindset and a background in the security sector?

Our client is looking for a Client Relationship and Business Development Manager to play a key role in retaining and developing existing client accounts while also identifying and securing new business opportunities.

The company provides SIA-approved strategic security services to clients across the UK, delivering professional security solutions focused on protecting people, premises, and businesses.

This is a varied, client-facing role for someone who enjoys building strong relationships, delivering excellent service, and turning commercial opportunities into long-term partnerships.

Role Overview

You will take ownership of key client relationships while supporting the continued growth of the business. Your responsibilities will include:

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients
  • Conduct regular client meetings and site visits
  • Ensure services continue to meet contractual requirements and client expectations
  • Respond promptly and professionally to queries, concerns, and service issues
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen and grow existing accounts

Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting, and market research
  • Generate leads and build a strong pipeline of prospective clients
  • Arrange and attend meetings with potential clients
  • Understand individual security requirements and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Prepare tailored proposals, quotations, and service plans
  • Present the company’s services clearly and professionally to prospective clients
  • Negotiate pricing, service specifications, and contract terms
  • Convert opportunities into new contracts and long-term client relationships

Contract Mobilisation and Service Delivery

  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure new contracts are successfully implemented
  • Coordinate the mobilisation of security personnel and resources
  • Maintain communication with clients throughout the onboarding process
  • Monitor service delivery during the early stages of new contracts and address any issues quickly

Commercial Growth

  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional security services
  • Monitor competitor activity and wider developments within the security industry
  • Track client retention, new business activity, and revenue growth
  • Produce regular reports on sales performance and business development activity

Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience within the security industry, with an understanding of SIA-approved security services
  • Experience in client relationship management, account management, and/or business development
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Confidence in building relationships with senior client contacts and decision-makers
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for account growth and new business
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Good problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Experience using CRM systems
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • A full UK driving licence is preferred
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends in line with business requirements

Above all, you will be someone who can strike the right balance between delivering an excellent service to existing clients, growing key accounts, and winning new business.
